    My DHs niece went through the program 7 or 8 years ago. Vanderbilt and Nashville are both AMAZING landing spots for veterans transitioning from military service. The Naval Academy will contact the Summer STEM attendees parents/guardians in the event of a medical emergency. Apparently they felt she did not have a strong enough application but on second glance, they wanted to place her on a list in the case they had a cancellation but they wanted permission first because we dont live near Maryland and they wondered if we would even consider it if we only had a weeks notice.

    I wont enter the argument about the motives of the USNA hosting STEM, but I will chime in to say that my son attended last summer as a rising sophomore. If you enjoy discovering new things, solving problems, and learning how things work even better! So, when he read about this, it is now his short term goal. Chance, Games, .     @ Bill, I would love to hear your daughters impression of the program. Its just the reality that in doing so, sometimes 8th graders get promoted at the push of a button.

    I'm a rising Junior and I applied to the the STEM program last minute in March and got accepted 2 weeks later. By submitting this form, you are giving IEEE permission to contact you and send you email updates about free and paid IEEE educational content. The program will include transportation to and from Baltimore Washington Airport and the United States Naval Academy, all meals and lodging, Midshipmen leadership, faculty led STEM academic modules in worldclass labs and classrooms.
